Explore The West Country

Tiverton is a historic market town occupied by the Romans who used it as a base for their activities in the West country.

The local museum provides an interesting insight into this aspect of the town's history. Visit the castle with its famous tapestry hangings and the pannier market held Fridays and Saturdays. There is a newly built leisure centre and a cinema.

The river Exe passes through the town as does the Grand Western canal and horse drawn barge trips take you through the most picturesque countryside. Knightshayes and Killerton House, two National Trust houses with beautiful garden are close by and well worth a visit.

Pond Cottage lies halfway between the villages of Rackenford and Witheridge. 10 miles to the west of Tiverton, it is in one of the few remaining unspoilt areas in England and only 17 miles from the M5.

Detailed information on how to get from the A361 to the cottage will be supplied on booking.
